About Empower Osteo & Performance
Injury is a risk we accept as we try to push the physical boundaries in sport. It’s inevitable so having the right support team around you is key! Empower Osteo & Performance helps you come back from those injuries, be better prepared for the next one and help you continue pursuing your goals.
Bringing both the osteopathic and strength & conditioning worlds together have truly shaped my philosophy and treatment plans. Viewing the body from a more complete lens allows you to see the links between the body’s structure and organs. We’re kind of like eggs! Our hard shells are the bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons. While our organs, nervous system and circulatory system are the egg white/egg yolk. Our bones and muscles’ primary focus is to protect our organs, nerves and circulatory systems. They need to live harmoniously and work together to allow for optimal body function and movement.
Focusing on finding the protection pattern that your body has created is key in helping you. Pain doesn’t equal damage. Pain is a signal that something needs to change – through assessment I find the organ, joint, body part that your body is protecting, treat it and then help you integrate these changes to help you move better and perform.
Treatments vary based on the needs you have and can include manual therapy, movement sessions or workouts, cupping, discovering new movement patterns, and custom strength & mobility programs. And lastly, I always include education around injury mechanisms, treatment, anatomy, rehab progress, flare ups, pain management, etc. Sometimes people think it takes an immense amount of work and time to get results when in reality we can be specific and efficient with our time to get the results you’re looking for. More is not always better.
I truly believe in the importance of having you be an active participant throughout the appointment. Your thoughts and opinions matter to me and need to be heard. You know your body best and I’m here to help guide you in the right direction in your healing journey or performance goals.
